How to Take the Quiz

Answer honestly based on your LIFELONG tendencies, not how you've felt recently or how you wish to be. Think about your natural state—the "you" that has been consistent throughout your life.

Scoring:

  • For each question, choose the description that best fits you
  • Keep track of your answers: V (Vata), P (Pitta), or K (Kapha)
  • You may identify with multiple qualities—choose what's most true most of the time

Part 1: Physical Characteristics

1. Body Frame & Build

V (Vata): Thin, lean, delicate frame. Difficult to gain weight. Prominent joints and bones. P (Pitta): Medium build with good muscle development. Gains and loses weight moderately easily. K (Kapha): Solid, sturdy, larger frame. Gains weight easily, loses slowly. Well-developed body.

2. Body Weight

V (Vata): Low weight. Difficult to gain regardless of how much I eat. P (Pitta): Moderate weight. Weight fluctuates within range fairly easily. K (Kapha): Heavy or above average. Gains weight easily, hard to lose.

3. Skin Texture

V (Vata): Dry, rough, thin, cool. Visible veins. Prone to dryness and cracks. P (Pitta): Warm, oily, soft. Flushed or rosy. Prone to rashes, acne, inflammation. K (Kapha): Thick, moist, smooth, cool, oily. Good complexion. Tends toward oiliness.

4. Hair

V (Vata): Dry, thin, brittle, coarse. Prone to split ends and tangles. P (Pitta): Fine, straight, oily. Premature graying or thinning. Reddish or light-colored. K (Kapha): Thick, lustrous, wavy or curly, oily, strong. Abundant hair.

5. Eyes

V (Vata): Small, dry, active, nervous. Dark brown, gray, or black. P (Pitta): Sharp, penetrating, sensitive to light. Green, gray, amber, or light. K (Kapha): Large, calm, attractive, moist. Blue, dark brown, or black.

6. Teeth & Gums

V (Vata): Irregular, crooked, or gapped teeth. Receding gums. Thin enamel. P (Pitta): Medium size, yellowish. Soft, bleeding gums. Cavities possible. K (Kapha): Large, white, strong, even teeth. Healthy, thick gums.

7. Appetite & Digestion

V (Vata): Irregular appetite. Sometimes hungry, sometimes not. Prone to gas, bloating, constipation. P (Pitta): Strong appetite. Gets angry or irritable if meal delayed. Strong digestion, can eat almost anything. K (Kapha): Steady but can skip meals. Slow digestion. Feels heavy after eating.

8. Bowel Movements

V (Vata): Irregular, constipation common. Dry, hard stools. Variable timing. P (Pitta): Regular, 1-2 times daily. Soft, loose, or urgent. May tend toward diarrhea. K (Kapha): Regular, once daily. Well-formed, heavy. May be slow or sluggish.

9. Body Temperature

V (Vata): Cold hands and feet. Dislikes cold, craves warmth. Poor circulation. P (Pitta): Warm or hot. Dislikes heat. Sweats easily. Good circulation. K (Kapha): Cool but tolerates most temperatures. May feel cold dampness.

10. Energy & Stamina

V (Vata): Quick bursts of energy followed by fatigue. Variable. Tire easily. P (Pitta): Moderate, consistent energy. Good stamina. Can push hard. K (Kapha): Steady, sustained energy. Excellent endurance. Slow to get going.


Part 2: Mental & Emotional Characteristics

11. Mental Activity

V (Vata): Quick, active, restless mind. Creative, imaginative. Many ideas at once. P (Pitta): Sharp, penetrating intellect. Focused, organized. Logical, analytical. K (Kapha): Calm, steady, slow processing. Thoughtful, methodical. Takes time to learn.

12. Memory

V (Vata): Quick to learn, quick to forget. Short-term memory good, long-term variable. P (Pitta): Sharp, accurate memory. Good general recall. Organized mental filing system. K (Kapha): Slow to learn but never forgets. Excellent long-term memory.

13. Speech Pattern

V (Vata): Fast talker. Talks a lot or very little. Jumps between topics. Animated. P (Pitta): Clear, articulate, convincing. Sharp tongue. Direct communicator. K (Kapha): Slow, melodious voice. Few words. Calm, soothing tone.

14. Sleep Pattern

V (Vata): Light, interrupted sleep. 5-6 hours. Difficulty falling asleep. Restless. P (Pitta): Sound, moderate sleep. 6-7 hours. Falls asleep easily, may wake to use bathroom. K (Kapha): Deep, heavy sleep. 8+ hours. Hard to wake up. Loves sleeping.

15. Dreams

V (Vata): Active, many dreams. Flying, running, fear, anxiety. Vivid but forget easily. P (Pitta): Intense, colorful. Passionate, violent, solving problems. Good recall. K (Kapha): Romantic, calm, water themes. Infrequent. Often doesn't remember.

16. Emotional Tendencies (When Balanced)

V (Vata): Enthusiastic, joyful, creative, adaptable, spontaneous, lively. P (Pitta): Confident, courageous, determined, focused, intelligent, leader. K (Kapha): Calm, content, loving, patient, supportive, stable, grounded.

17. Emotional Tendencies (When Stressed)

V (Vata): Anxious, worried, fearful, scattered, overwhelmed, lonely, insecure. P (Pitta): Angry, irritable, critical, judgmental, impatient, controlling, jealous. K (Kapha): Depressed, lethargic, attached, possessive, greedy, stubborn, resistant.

18. Response to Stress

V (Vata): Worries, becomes anxious or scared. Tendency to run away or freeze. P (Pitta): Gets angry, frustrated, or irritated. Tendency to fight or control. K (Kapha): Withdraws, shuts down, sleeps. Tendency to avoid or ignore.

19. Learning Style

V (Vata): Learns quickly through movement and creativity. Needs variety. Easily distracted. P (Pitta): Learns through analysis and understanding. Focused, competitive learner. K (Kapha): Learns slowly through repetition. Methodical, patient. Retains well.

20. Social Preferences

V (Vata): Large social circle, many acquaintances. Loves meeting new people. Social butterfly. P (Pitta): Selective friendships. Prefers quality over quantity. Enjoys leadership roles. K (Kapha): Few close friends. Deeply loyal. Prefers intimate gatherings. Family-oriented.

21. Spending Habits

V (Vata): Spends impulsively on small items. Money comes and goes. Doesn't save well. P (Pitta): Spends on quality and luxury. Organized finances. Invests wisely. K (Kapha): Saves well, frugal. Accumulates wealth. Reluctant to spend.

22. Work Style

V (Vata): Multi-tasker, creative work. Prefers variety and change. Entrepreneurial. P (Pitta): Goal-oriented, focused. Prefers leadership and management. Achievement-driven. K (Kapha): Steady, routine work. Prefers consistency and security. Service-oriented.

23. Decision Making

V (Vata): Changes mind frequently. Difficulty deciding. Spontaneous choices. P (Pitta): Decisive, quick. Confident in decisions. Rarely second-guesses. K (Kapha): Takes time deciding. Weighs options carefully. Sticks with decisions.

24. Response to Change

V (Vata): Loves change, variety, travel. Embraces new experiences enthusiastically. P (Pitta): Adapts if it makes sense. Prefers planned, purposeful change. K (Kapha): Resists change. Prefers routine and familiarity. Needs time to adjust.

V (Vata): Enjoys light, creative movement. Yoga, dance, walking. Variable motivation. P (Pitta): Enjoys competitive sports and challenges. Running, cycling, team sports. K (Kapha): Prefers gentle or avoids exercise. Needs motivation. Swimming, walking.

Understanding Your Results

If One Dosha is Dominant (15+ points)
